Governor Martin O’Malley Presents iVote Maryland With a Governor’s Citation

12 Feb

Politic with Permiss are proud members of the iVote Movement (includes Hip hop and R&B Artists, Media Personalities and Music executives)

Governor Martin O’Malley stopped by the Radio One studios today for a q&a session with 1010 WOLB’s Larry Young. While there he spoke to members from the iVote committee and presented them with a governor’s citation

iVote is a movement to educate, empower, encourage young adults about the power, impact and credibility of voting. They do this by creating awareness through technology, entertainment and activism. They strive to prove that young adults don’t have to be disenfranchised, but they can build connections with officials in office to bridge the gap.

We can be united, accountable, and proactive members of society. When we say iVote, we mean that one does matter!

The kick off event for iVote concert/after party will be held Bourbon Street 316 Guilford Avenue in Baltimore, MD 21202 on Tuesday, March 29, 2011.

The event will have appearance by elected officials, music performances; information on the political systems and an area to register to vote.

Politic With Permiss Welcomes Author Crystal L. Bass- Dark Clouds: A Charm City Family’s Struggle

Politic With Permiss welcomes Author Crystal L. Bass

Crystal will talk about her brand new book  Dark Clouds: A Charm City Family’s Struggle.

In Dark Clouds: A Charm City Family’s Struggle, Author Crystal L. Bass keeps the reader guessing as she uses side-splitting humor, ear for dialogue, love for working-class characters and heartfelt pathos to deftly move us through the story of the teenager who is caught in a quagmire. Set in late-1980s Baltimore, Maryland, Bass skillfully pulls us into the story of Ruby Bowers, who is one of what her mother, Diane, calls her four precious gems. But Diane has never truly shown how precious they are, so it is no wonder that each is battling their own inner demons. Dark clouds seem to permanently hover over the dysfunctional family, as they crazily yet lovingly struggle through enough family drama to last two lifetimes.
